I guess I would define myself as a Freeskier. If the powder is good, I'm skiing the resort. If the Backcountry is stable I'm touring some new line or building a jump, filming with friends. If we've got weeks of sunshine, I'm in the park practicing my past skills of being a competitive park and urban rail skier. For me skiing goes beyond just the sport, it's also my career to design products from touring gear to engineering skis for multiple brands including my own - Daymaker Touring.
There was this 2 hitter line a few years ago filming in Utah. I stepped out the top of a cliff to make a little pad, and then right after the cliff was a messy windlip with a landing about 40 feet below but with some rocks in the center of the landing so you had to be dialed in. On my first run with the fresh snow, no tracks, I nose butter cork 7'd the first cliff and then flat 3'd the windlip air, landed just to the left of the rocks clean, and skied out with a long glider air off this banked roller.... felt like I was in a dream.
