Community Through The Competition: Erika Vikander's Disposable Camera Diary

How do you start your day?
I typically start my day with a big glass of water and some stretching before moving into my coffee that I always have in a to-go mug from home.
What happens before riding?
Before riding, I typically have at least a 30-40 minute drive to the mountain where I catch up on some of my favorite podcasts. I will sometimes respond to emails if they need immediate attention, but I generally try not to do any stressful tasks before snowboarding.
What do you love most about the crew vibes?
I love showing up to the mountain knowing that you will always run into friends to ride with. That's the beauty of the mountain community, when your friends are like-minded they're never too far away when it comes to recreating.
Tell us where you went and about the day!
I was in Jackson Hole competing at the Kings and Queens of Corbets on this day. From arriving at the resort, to gathering my belongings, to trying to stay grounded before the contest, the photos transition to the sense of relief at the end of the day when the comp is over. Eventually, I'm just hanging with my friends, having a well deserved beer.

What about this particular day was special?
Aside from being a contest day, what made it special was having my partner by my side all day.
What's the most rewarding part of your day?
The reward of this day was knowing that I pushed myself despite the fear that I felt standing at the top of the drop-in.

Any daily rituals?
I like to pull an animal spirit card from my deck at some point during the day. It's fun to see what manifests through the deck, and more often than not, it's spot on!
How do you end your day?
I always end my day with a nice epsom salt soak, some stretching, and in this case, a couple of beers to celebrate being in one piece at the bottom of the run.
